AOH Celebrates Breast Cancer Awareness Month 2025

 
To mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month, AOH hosted a meaningful three-day online event from October 29 to 31, 2025, in partnership with the Philippine Society of Medical Oncologists. The Zoom series brought together medical experts, survivors, and supporters for an inspiring set of discussions focused on breast cancer education, empowerment, and hope. Attendees also enjoyed daily raffle prizes as part of the celebration. Empowering Sessions Led by Medical Experts The event featured a strong lineup of speakers who addressed important aspects of breast cancer:
  • Dr. Elaine Marisse Ilagan-Cargulo and Dr. Carissa Elivira Tachgco-Abao opened the series with The Basics of Breast Cancer, providing essential information on early detection, risk factors, and treatment pathways.
  • Dr. Bryle Zapanta followed with Debunking Myths of Breast Cancer, clarifying common misconceptions and emphasizing evidence-based understanding.
  • Dr. Jade del Mundo guided participants through practical strategies for accessing financial support and easing the economic burden of cancer care.
  • Dr. Francis Gail M. Turalba shared expertise on Nutrition Management, highlighting the role of proper nutrition in supporting overall wellness for cancer patients.
Messages of Faith, Healing, and Hope The final day included a spiritual reflection from Ptr. Vince Parayno, who spoke on “What Does the Bible Say About Healing?”. His message provided comfort and encouragement to many attendees. Closing the event was Ms. Charity Joyce Marohombsar, a proud cancer thriver, who offered a heartfelt testimony of her journey—sharing how faith, perseverance, and community carried her through her battle.
